How much does a China eSIM cost?

A China travel eSIM from roamsync.co starts at $0.66 for 102 MB valid 7 days. 21 plans are available for China, priced from $0.66 to $50.82, with validity from 1 day to 180 days. Data allowances run from 102 MB up to 50 GB. Connections run at 5G / 4G / 3G / 2G speeds on local partner networks. Every plan is data-only: it carries mobile internet but does not include a local China phone number, so calls and messages travel over internet apps such as WhatsApp. Activation is by QR code, delivered to your email and WhatsApp within seconds of purchase, and the profile installs in about two minutes on any eSIM-capable iPhone, Samsung or Google Pixel. Prices are listed in US dollars and converted to your local currency at checkout. Plans can be bought and installed before departure, so the eSIM is ready the moment you land.

Pricing and coverage details last updated

A China eSIM is a digital SIM profile you install on your phone instead of inserting a physical SIM card. After you order on roamsync.co, you receive a QR code by WhatsApp and email — scan it, and your device is provisioned with mobile data in China within minutes. There's nothing to post or collect; the whole process happens on your phone.

While you're still on Wi-Fi (ideally before you fly), open Settings on your phone, go to Mobile/Cellular Data, choose Add eSIM or Add Data Plan, and scan the QR code from your order confirmation. Leave the new eSIM line installed but inactive until you land in China, then switch on Data Roaming for that line.

Most eSIM-capable phones from the last few years work fine — this includes iPhone XS and later, Google Pixel 4 and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later (including Z Fold/Flip models), and recent OnePlus and Motorola devices. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. If you're not sure, check our device compatibility checker before you order.

Yes. The China eSIM runs on a separate line purely for data, so your existing SIM stays in the other slot for calls and SMS on your normal number. Most travellers keep both active — one for data in China, one for staying reachable on their home number.

Yes — once the data line is active, every internet-based app works exactly as it would on a local SIM: WhatsApp, FaceTime, Google Maps, ride-hailing apps, streaming and email all run over the eSIM's data connection with no extra setup required.

It depends on how you use your phone. As a rough guide: light use (maps, messaging, some browsing) needs around 1-3GB per week, while heavier use with social media and occasional streaming needs 5-10GB per week. Compare exact data sizes and validity periods above and pick the closest match to your trip length.

You won't be cut off with unexpected charges — instead, simply come back to roamsync.co and purchase another plan or a top-up (where supported, this is shown as the plan's Top-Up Protocol in the order details). The new data is applied to the same eSIM profile, so there's no need to reinstall anything.

Delivery is instant. As soon as your order is confirmed, the QR code and setup instructions are sent to you by WhatsApp and email — most customers are ready to install within a minute or two of paying.
